Warranty, Service and Repairs
1 Year Complete Warranty
All new equipment purchased through Smarter Building Technology is covered by a complete 1-year manufacturer’s limited warranty. In some cases, the manufacturer offers extended warranties beyond the 1-year standard and these are passed onto you, the consumer. Products manufactured by 3rd party sources such as Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Pelco and American Dynamics are subject to the terms and conditions of the manufacturer's warranty.
If your equipment fails during the warranty period due to a manufacturing defect you should request an RMA (Return Material Authorization) from the technical support team. If the product has failed and is deemed to be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, we will repair or replace the product. If the equipment is dead on arrival or fails within the first 30 days, Smarter Building Technology will pay for shipping to and from your location on the warranty items. After 30 days, the cost for shipping the product back to Smarter Building Technology is the responsibility of the customer.

With offices in Salt Lake City, Boise, Reno and St. George an on call service tech is never far away. We can provide service in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Oregon and Washington.

Professional Design & Engineering Services
We proudly offer Professional Design and Engineering Services for Intelligent Building Management Systems, Lighting Controls, Video Surveillance Systems, Access Control, Alarm Systems, Energy Service, Industrial Automation and SCADA Systems.
Once we are awarded a design and engineering contract, we will assemble a dedicated team of professionals to help you meet your goals. Our top-notch engineering team will quickly provide a comprehensive design and submittal package for your review and approval. The package will be professionally prepared and complete with high quality auto-cad drawings, riser diagrams, installation manuals, power and battery calculations and a detailed project installation schedule.
Our in house, fully staffed engineering and CAD department provides our customers and employees a quick response to design changes and accurate as-built drawings. Our employees proudly represent one of the best-prepared and well-trained work forces in the industry. Each employee is fully empowered to utilize our years of expertise and dedication to outstanding customer service to fulfill your long-term needs.
User Training and Support
There is no other company in the Intermountain West that commits more resources to customer training than Smarter Building Technology. Providing excellent training courses and up to date product knowledge is an important part of our commitment to customer service. We offer monthly training sessions, quarterly user group meetings and new product updates.
Each year, Smarter Building Technology offers a series of factory authorized training courses from leading manufacturers of building management, access control and video surveillance systems. These classes are taught in our state of the art training center located at our corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah. The courses follow the same itinerary as the factory classes and are taught by fully trained, factory certified instructors.
